This is a General Guide to Our Copyright Reproduction Conditions

We endeavour to action copyright requests as soon as we receive them. We do also have a life! Therefore, we only guarantee a reply within three weeks. If your copyright request is Urgent, we charge an additional 50% of the total reproduction fee with a minimum charge of $50NZ.

Applications to be made in writing for permission to reproduce any works of art, letters and documents. Time can be saved by describing your intentions as to use, proposed publication run, price and size of publication and any other relevant details.

We accept applications via post / email / fax.

The Estate of Rita Angus charges a fee for any reproduction.

Permission to reproduce is given after acceptance in writing of, or payment of the proposed fees.

Final Copyright approval is only granted upon payment of the required fee. Until payment is received by the Estate, any approval is conditional and publication should not proceed.

Fees may be negotiated in special circumstances, e.g. exemption or reduction of fees may be granted if in the opinion of the Estate it is in the public interest.

Please note: Any additional use outside that detailed in the original application requires a new application and may result in additional fees.

As a general rule, permission will only be granted where the requirements below can be met:

- The reproduced image is high quality and the work is reproduced in full. i.e. No cropping or overprinting is permitted. (Book & Magazine Covers Excepted.)

- The artist's name and title must be correctly appellated. e. g. Rita Angus, "Self Portrait" (1937)

- Any acknowledgement of the reproduction permission should read "Courtesy of The Estate of Rita Angus".

- Two copies of the publication are required for the Estate archives.

- The Estate reserves the right to refuse applications.
